Post-Isolation Grids is the first take from the first time Peter and I had played together in over 4 months, post-quarantine.
We decided to approach this short recording differently than previous recorded improvisations by having us both take a stab at mixing the stereo track.
Included is the same 15+ minute track, twice. Track 1 (version 1) was mixed by myself and generously bathed in post-production reverb for a tinge of psychedelia. Track 2 (version 2), which was mixed by Peter, is a slightly hotter, more experimental take with foreword and backward audio battling for sonic space.

Other firsts: the first time I recorded playing through someone else’s gear, the first time I played a Fender Esquire guitar (I’m still not use to it), the first time I played a guitar with a fat, vintage V-neck, and the first time I recorded plugging straight into an amp without any effects/pedals. - Jeff

The performances were recorded on an inexpensive digital stereo recorder. The recording is kind of lo-fi, which fits the band’s aesthetic.
